Want to learn how to increase your followers on social media, drive traffic to your website, and market your band online?

Good. That’s what I’m here for.

Now Playing is a hotbed for digital marketing tips for young artists and bands, a source for industry secrets (and industry shortcuts!), and a community for musicians and music fans alike.

Who are you?

You’re probably a super-talented musician who has found yourself hustling a 9-5 or slinging beer to pay the rent, but you’d rather be making music. Maybe you’re an amazing songwriter, trying to figure out how to get your lyrics heard by the masses, rather than trying to understand why no one has liked your latest Facebook post yet. Or maybe you’re an aspiring music industry maven, and you want to learn as much about music marketing as you can to support the artists you love.

Oh, and you probably love hearing new music too.

Well you’ve come to the right place.

Who am I?

Sweet of you to ask.

My name is Kyla Clarke. I’m a writer by trade and music fan by heart. I have worked in radio, marketing, PR, and concert production for over 7 years. In 2011, I started Now Playing as a place to review and share new music that I was listening to and wanted my friends to hear too. It evolved over the years into a place for me to share my thoughts on music, travel, and growing up. Fast forward to 2016 and I have rebranded my little blog into a digital marketing resource for musicians just like you.

So tell me, how can I help?

Hi Kyla. I found your name whilst looking for writers and reviewers of culture. I’m a Canadian comic whose album is being released on May 5th by a US label which has put out the albums of Marc Maron, David Cross, Maria Bamford, Doug Stanhope and more. The label is Stand Up! Records, the album is “Is was ok,” and my name is David Heti. I thought perhaps this might be of interest.
